OPTA-2018 is the 7th conference on optimization problems and their applications organized in Omsk. In year 2018, the conference will be devoted to the memory of Professor Alexander Kolokolov who chaired the organizing committee in years 1997- 2015 when the conference was named "Optimization Problems and Economical Applications". The main purpose of the conference is to provide a forum where researchers can exchange ideas, identify promising research directions and application domains, and foster new collaborations. English and Russian are the working languages of the conference.
Main Topics
- Mathematical programming
- Discrete optimization
- Operations research
- Optimization problems in data analysis, machine learning and pattern recognition
- Applications of optimization methods in economics, management, design, biology, and education
- Metaheuristics and local search methods
- Parallel computations to speed up the solution of optimization problems

Conference Abstracts
Conference abstracts can be in Russian or English. An example of abstract formatting is provided on the conference web site:
http://opta18.oscsbras.ru/en/#abstract
Decisions regarding acceptance of talks for oral presentation at the conference will be made by the Program Committee on the basis of abstracts. Abstracts that do not fit the conference scope or do not adhere to the formatting requirements may be rejected. Accepted talks will be included into the conference program if at least one author pays the conference fee.
Conference Proceedings
Pre-conference proceedings will be published in English (peer reviewed, referenced in Scopus database), presumably in Springer series "Communications in Computer and Information Science". All proceedings papers must be prepared by Springer rules for the LNCS:

The following two options are acceptable for proceedings papers:
- Regular paper, 10–14 pages;
- Short communication, 6–8 pages.
The proceedings papers should present new unpublished results. Decisions on acceptance of papers to the proceedings will be made by the Program Committee on the basis of evaluations of reviewers.
Submissions and Registration
Both LaTex and pdf-files of the abstracts should be sent via e-mail to the address of the Organizing Committee opta2018@yandex.ru . Authors willing to submit a proceedings paper following an abstract, should mention this in the e-mail with the abstract.
The papers for proceedings will be submitted by the EasyChair system:
